Download: Thanksgiving 2016

We are very #thankful this year and I think the past four days worth of photos will show you just how much!

We did a little proclamatin’ on Thursday followed by feasting with both of our families. The rest of the weekend was spent getting into the holiday spirit: spinning our favorite tunes, picking out the tree and tuning into a few classics on the tube.

Friday faves

I love me some free printables, so I’ve decided to create one for you to download & share. During the craziness leading up to Christmas, it’s nice to have a little reminder sitting around about keeping your cool.

The holiday season is upon us and I hope you decide to do some small shopping this weekend. If you are local to DSM, here are a few of my faves. Shopping small online and looking for things for your kiddos? There are some great deals to be had out there. Check out the following brands: June & January, Bannor Toys and Childhoods Clothing.

Christmas music is MY JAM. Super excited to get my hands on the new Kasey Musgraves holiday album. Yeehaw Santa!

I can never seem to find time to make it to the nail salon for a proper manicure these days (geez, I wonder why?!) so I tend to DIY it at home with Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel. This is my go-to color.

Thx

I sure hope you are all getting in a good post stuffing-your-face nap or, if you are into it, enjoying a little pre-Black Friday long-line madness. I wanted to take the time to thank each and every one of you for checking out Tomorrow’s To Dos over the last few years and for following along with our family. I adore my readers!

This week we were lucky to participate in another official turkey pardon at Terrace Hill. Rizzo and Bryant (GO CUBS GO!) will spend the rest of their days grazing the fields at Living History Farms instead of ending up on your Thanksgiving table.

Now go forth, and eat pie!

Little looks: Christmas jammies 2016

Guys, it’s never too early to think about holiday jammies, right?! We’ve already got our Christmas eve pajamas figured out for the kids and adults, but here are a few other faves that would make any cocoa sipping or Santa sighting festive.

sbuxredcup2016

Snagged a new festive throw blanket that kind of makes the holidays look a little more basic don’t you think?

Have you gotten your first red cup yet? After last year’s drama, Starbucks decided to put the designing in the hands of their customers. I think they turned out pretty darn cute.

I was walking through Target last weekend and noticed that Mrs. Meyer’s had their new holiday scents out in store. Look who got a little hometown shout out this year! I then proceeded to buy all the soap they had in stock because it’s two of my husbands favorite things combined: a freshly cut Christmas tree + our great state.

The temps are about to dip here this weekend (they started to already today) which means we are officially in sweater season. My sis and one of my favorite Instagram accounts gave me a heads up about this one.

‘Tis the season for great advertising and UK based Mark & Spencer truly nailed it with this spot featuring a badass Mrs. Claus!

More wine please

It is no hidden secret that I love me some wine. But what you might not know is that my husband is the reason that is the case. I only dabbled in the stuff before he came along and took my palate to better (read: more expensive in some cases), more refined heights.

So after a much anticipated return to the ‘good stuff’ post-baby, I decided why not share some of my favorites with you. Here, in no particular order, are the bottles we are sure to keep in our humble “cellar” that are perfect for entertaining or just because you got the little ones to bed at a decent time. CHEERS!

William Harrison // Rutherford Red
B.R. Cohn // Cabernet Sauvignon
Duckhorn Vineyards // Sauvignon Blanc
Veuve Clicquot // Brut
Butter // Chardonnay

I am still on the hunt for a good “house” rose for our cellar. Got any leads? We are always looking for good recommendations and would love to hear what you and yours drink when you are in the mood for some wine. Please share in the comments!

[my favorite view: hope to do more of this over the next two days]

As we head into the weekend there are a few things around the interwebs that I thought I’d like to share with you, so I decided to create a reoccurring post – FRIDAY FAVES. I can’t promise that it will happen every week, because life, but I’ll try to round up things throughout the week and share them here.

Happy weekend…here goes nothing 🙂

I just downloaded and printed out this amazing illustrated 2017 calendar for my office. It was created by This Little Street and Jessica Keala and is pretty much the cutest thing ever. AND IT’S FREE!

Speaking of planners, I’m obsessed with the Sugar Paper x Target line (they also have Christmas gift wrap goodies again this year!) and this little blue beauty for 2017 is en route to me as I type.

In need of a tasty treat for yourself or someone you know? These melt in your mouth caramels can be found online or at your local Costco and are a great go-to gift during the upcoming holiday season.

Another epic Costco find, a set of eight BabyLit books for a fraction of what they would cost if you bought them separately. You don’t have to be a member to purchase online, but if you pick up in store they are $7 cheaper.

Just added this versatile oversized plaid cape-scarf from J.Crew to my Christmas wish list. Those arm holes are key! Now I just have to figure out if I’d rather have navy or graphite.

Download: Turducken 2016

Between caring for a recovering sick kid and a three month old while dad is on his annual ‘rut-cation’, being a little under the weather myself, daylight saving time and a turducken feast – I am spent.

As I write this my left eye is twitching. Think that’s a sign that mama needs a break?! Hoping things die down a little this week so we can get back to a routine. Enjoy a few photos from this year’s feast 🙂

Chef Marcus candidly informs us what is going to happen next…

The rest of the evening was just so crazy that I don’t have any other photos to show. But let me assure you, it was delicious!

Cozy cottage

Everett’s favorite thing to do is to “get cozy” under one of our myriad of faux fur blankets on the couch. And unfortunately, he’s been doing it a lot this week since he was diagnosed with pneumonia on Wednesday. We plan on taking it easy this weekend, watching a few thousand digger or garbage truck YouTube videos and hoping for a return to normalcy next week!

With cooler temps ahead and the crispness of fall in the air, now is a great time to outfit your home with a few cozy items of your own. Here are a few of my go-tos…
