Our halls are decked and one of my absolute favorite additions this year is this wireless remote control electrical outlet switch for our indoor Christmas lights. “Number 664 will be going on right about… now.”

I love snagging delicious cheese to go from The Cheese Shop in Des Moines, and I made a beeline into the store on a recent Thursday to grab one of the best I’ve ever had, the elusive Black Betty. It only comes out around this time of year, and when it’s gone, it’s gone.

I stumbled upon this photo exhibit in an old magazine I finally sat down with this week. It served as a reminder of how quickly time goes by and to remember to cherish the little things.

Little looks: Christmas jammies 2020

It should come as no surprise that as the clock struck midnight on Halloween, my children’s pajamas magically turned from bats and skeletons to trees and elves. Well, not literally, but the change was abrupt! We love festive jammies around these parts and I would love to share a few of my favorites with you. But act fast, these seem to be going fast these days.

Christmas decorating is in full force at our house. Spreading cheer is number one on my list this year! As soon as I saw a sneak peek of these wooden trees on social media, I knew I had to have them.

I’ve been on the lookout for some fun holiday print face coverings for the boys to wear to school during the month of December and I love these plaids from Old Navy. And they have them for adults too!

Doing meal planning on Sundays is something that is a work-in-progress for me ALWAYS. Some of my recent favorites have been coming from Half Baked Harvest though and just felt like I should share. You know, just in case you are struggling too!

Friday faves

It was another quick week for us! With celebrating my birthday mid-week, it’s been hard to be motivated the past few days.

Took my new Pottery Barn coupes that I snagged at HomeGoods for a test run!

Speaking of celebrating my birthday, Marcus and I had the most amazing lunch on Wednesday at one of our local favorites, Table 128. The service was spot on and the plexiglass dividers and ample distance between tables made us feel quite safe. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Marcus and I don’t really exchange birthday gifts, but I did manage to buy myself something that I truly needed this year: new running shoes. I know, not exciting at all!

We took our family photos a few weeks ago, so now I am on the hunt for the perfect Christmas card design and layout. Really loving the creative ideas from Artifact Uprising this year.

Guys, I’m going to try my darnedest to bring Friday faves back to life here after taking a bit of a break. In case you are new around these parts, I try to round up things that are bringing me joy in this space each week. Sharing means caring, right?!

On a recent trip to Marshall’s, I stumbled upon the brand Vintage Havana, which are a great lower priced option for Golden Goose sneakers. I snagged these shoes for $24.99!

Christmas decor is hitting the shelves of our local Target and I’m so incredibly excited to decorate this year! I picked up this countdown and Everett was amped. He is my holiday lovin’ mini me.

And lest you forget how much I love the holidays, my favorite time of year is here starting today – non-stop Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channels. The new ones kick off tomorrow night and I am so flippin’ ready.
