We really squeezed out every last bit of summer over the long weekend. Complete with the boys first trip to Kinnick for a Hawkeye football game and lazy days on the lake. So long summer – bring on all things fall!

[these cousins love a good parade]
It’s tailgating season and I am sure to never leave home without a koozie and my favorite insulated cup!
I’m not proud of this, but I’m a Bachelor franchise junky. Marcus can’t stand it, but I think it is a great show to have on with a glass of wine and baskets of laundry to fold. One of my favorite things to do the day after the show is to read I Hate Green Beans recap posts. I laugh out loud every time!
Ok, it is officially pumpkin season (well, at Starbucks anyway) and I am excited to try out the new Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. Has anyone else tried it yet? Verdict?
If you follow along on Instagram you may have seen some snaps of my back to school breakfasts for the boys. Thought I would share some photos here and link up a few of the items that I used.
Both boys absolutely loved their “special surprises” on the morning of their first day. Fitzie’s reaction was pretty much the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!

[couldn’t find this garland at my local Target so I made my own]

[book // bus // name plates from Target Dollar Spot (similar)]
[darling idea from @homeofuandme]
[my favorite semi-homemade cinnamon rolls]
[lined paper from Target Dollar Spot // apple tag // paper straws]

[Re-Play stackable snack cups // old best day ever napkins (love these though!)]

[love these two little goofballs]
I put together a fun back to school breakfast for the boys this morning and adapted this cinnamon roll recipe – got rid of the nuts and made my own frosting – then added some colored sprinkles. It was a hit!
My favorite fall scented candles are back on the shelves and I loaded eight of them into my cart during my last trip.
After seeing my friend in these camo leggings I knew I had to have them. They are SOOOO comfortable.
It’s hard to believe that the end of summer is in sight. Kids go back to school this week, and I’m not exactly sure how I feel. Either way, we are trying to pack in all the things before the warm temps and longer days give way to crisp air and darkness by 5 p.m.

[lazy weekend mornings]
[enjoying the beautiful garden at Terrace Hill]
[saying goodbye to the boys’ preschool]
[checking out my sister’s new office building + exploring downtown]
[fresh cut from Loyal Sons Barber Shop]
[receiving a postcard from Everett’s new kindergarten teacher]
[the most random things end up at our house]
[the boys enjoyed their annual Aunt Adrianne day]
[obsessed with all the fall goodies at Hobby Lobby]
[celebrating 150 years of the peoples’ house]
I enjoyed reading this piece from the Washington Post about the beloved Iowa State Fair.
It’s almost tailgating time and I was recently browsing for some updated Iowa gear. Enter Tailgate – completely obsessed with all of their Hawkeye items.
You know I love me some Chip and Jo Gaines, and am so glad we can get some of their goodies at our local Targets. The new fall stuff is hitting shelves right now, and it is SO GOOD.
[Fox Creek Splash Pad is back open and we finally got to check it out!]
Can you believe it? College football season is almost here and this Hawkeye lovin’ family is HERE. FOR. IT. Tomorrow, the University of Iowa football team will hold its annual Kids at Kinnick Day. Meet Herky, get autographs and visit the Kids Zone for inflatable games, face painting, temporary tattoos.
As summertime winds down we are trying to squeeze in all of the items on our bucket list and the last two are: miniature golf and watch a movie outside. I’m hoping to check out the Jester Park Mini Golf course with the boys soon. Have you ever been there?
Goosebumps I tell you, goosebumps. That is what I have upon watching this clip. Details are just coming out about what will be an amazing event, and I have a feeling tickets are going to be HARD to snag though…
This past weekend we celebrated our little Fitzie turning three. I’m not exactly sure how that is even possible. We had friends and family gathered for a Wild & Three party filled with a donut wall, breakfast pizza and bottomless mimosas (for the adults).
