I’m sure by now you have all seen the ‘hey there, pumpkin’ door mat literally everywhere on social media. Most likely thrown over this buffalo check rug! Etsy is chock full of variations, including this version that I used to fashion my DIY version after.

If you are up for a little crafting, then this simple project is calling your pumpkin-lovin’ name.

You just start with a plain door mat (this is the one I used from Target).

I picked up some black paint in the craft aisle and used a brush I had on hand.

I started by free-handing (you could create a stencil if you prefer) the lettering onto the doormat with a gold Sharpie (guess I was feeling confident?).

Once done, I went back in with the paint.

Pro tip: After you paint the pumpkin, flip it upside down and work on the hey there. That way to don’t smear!

And voila! I’m so happy with how it turned out and can’t wait to get it on our front porch with pumpkins piled around it!
