Throughout this pandemic I have been mesmerized daily by photographer Jamie Beck’s #isolationcreations. Each day during her lockdown in Provence, she has created a photograph and taken us along through the process. I have been so obsessed with following, that this week on her last day, I fully felt a void. You can purchase her prints on posters and I’m currently debating which one to buy.

After spending so much time inside our house, I felt like things needed a little refresh. After we took down our Easter decor, everything just seemed so drab and dull. So I ordered a few things to start and liven up the place – both indoors and out. Working remotely and trying to keep the boys entertained, fed and learning is no joke. So you know I have no time to put too much effort into what I’m wearing these days. I wake up, and throw on some version of the same outfit that consists of: workout pants, a tee or tank, a comfortable long sleeve sweatshirt-like item and a sports bra. I have been staying consistent with my noon hour workouts, and trying to get outside for walks when I can – so being ready for those things at all times is key.

Easter might look a little different this year, but I’m going to do my darnedest to keep some of our traditions alive. And that starts with collecting goodies for the boys’ Easter baskets. This year, my focus is going to be fun summer stuff and items to keep them busy when I’m heading into an hour long Zoom call. I’ve been meaning to write this post now for a couple of weeks, but between working remotely and keeping two small children alive, turns out I’m pretty preoccupied and doggone tired by the end of the day. Hence the radio silence.
As this blog serves as a collection of our life, I thought I better not miss the chance to document what is going on in the world right now. We are smack dab in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic and are currently practicing social distancing and our own sheltering in place.
I have felt every single emotion over the past two weeks, and I’m sure this is just the beginning. From awkward work Zoom calls to explaining what a virus is to my two small boys, this has definitely been something that I would have never imagined having to deal with.
But, with all that is going on, the one thing I keep coming back to, is how I will never forget this time I’ve gotten to spend with just the four of us. The good and the bad. And I want to take the time to document it all. I hope you are all well and know that we are in this together!
There are so many cute items hitting the stores right now and I’m so excited! We aren’t traveling over spring break this year, much to Everett’s dismay, but I do love thinking ahead to warmer days and summer looks.
